Nobody is going to deny that Australia is awash with Amazon news and views to the point of supersaturation. (Isn’t that where crystallisation occurs)?
It also apparent that there is an abundance of conflicting views- from the ‘good news it won’t hurt that much camp’ to the ‘hard truth; prepare for pain’ trenches.
At the RPU we believe that the best way to face a threat is to neutralise it before it becomes a risk and, primarily dealing with Australian retailers, right now that means Amazon is good for our business.
But what’s Amazin (sorry about that) are some of the more outrageous ‘excuses’ we are hearing along the way- the misguided reasons for doing little or nothing. Having amassed a fair collection both directly- and contributions from industry colleagues- we thought to have a little fun and share just some of the comments, feedback and anecdotes in a series of short clips- and invite you to respond with some of the more outrageous you’ve come across. A little entertainment and engagement, if you like, in the midst of a serious challenge for Australian retailers.
